I think the Masanori Ikeda release has been out on vinyl for ages but I don't care. It's such a great track!

MOTOR CITY DRUM ENSEMBLE... AT LAST!

Danilo Plessow (AKA) Motor City Drum Ensemble touches down in Liverpool tomorrow night at Coco De Mer. To say I'm excited is really an understatement.

Since I first listened to MCDE's release on Compost Black at the tail end of 2007 I have bought and played more or less everything he has produced since.

In essence his music is a distillation of everything that is good about house, techno and jazz music. A mix between the old and the new that so few manage to get right.

I'm crossing my fingers, hoping he'll play his new remix of Zero 7 - Home at some point tomorrow.

You can check out the DJ mixes that got so many of my friends interested in him below:

Also here's an interview with Danilo from the excellent Wunderkind blog for you to check out.

A collection of his Raw Cuts EP series was released last month.

See you tomorrow. It's going to be special.

SAALIM - SNOWFALL TRIBE YIN (FEELIN' ALRIGHT)

Arriving at the end of May is the debut EP from Northern Ireland's Bored Audio. I played the Acos CoolKAs remix recently at Pigeon Hole Disco and it sounded all nice and lovely! Also featured is an excellent remix from Toby Tobias that morphs the laid back original into a heavy hitting monster.

SIMON KEAT - THE ACID DISCO MIX

One of the driving reasons behind me creating this new blog is so I can help raise awareness to the high quality of DJs Liverpool possesses.

Simon Keat posted this mix on the CIRCUS Messageboard a few days ago and I thought it would be a perfect way to kick off the first of what I hope will be many guest mixes to follow.

Its a beautifully mixed selection in honour of his heroes: Ron Hardy and Theo Parrish.

Further details about the mix and the tracklisting can be found on Simon's SoundCloud Profile.
